25th August - 27th August
Following on from STV's New Year New You campaign I have decided to set myself a bit of a fitness/Challenge Anneka goal. Over the course of just 2 days I will be cycling from Stornoway to Lochboisdale, roughly around 130 miles. It's a massive challenge as I've not cycled for years!
During the event I will be meeting as many people as possible, visiting schools, having fundraising breakfasts and visiting people from Oxfam Scotland's climate change project on South Uist. As if that wasn't enough I'll be holding 2 quiz nights, one in Tarbert and the other in Lochboisdale.
I am hoping to raise as much money as I possibly can whilst on the islands but also hope you can dig deep and sponsor me on here too!
I am raising money for STV Appeal 2011, which is focusing this year on raising money and awareness of child poverty in Scotland as shockingly 1 in 4 children live in moderate to extreme poverty.
You can find out more about STV Appeal on our dedicated site - www.stv.tv/appeal
You will be able to keep up to date with my progress on my dedicated Facebook page, Twitter and also through the STV Appeal pages. This is a plan of the trip below -
I really hope you will be able to give a little to help us in the fight against child poverty in our own country.
