Story
The whole school charity at Surbiton High School this term is Mountain Rescue England and Wales. As many of you know, Surbiton girls are to be found all over the UK and, indeed, the world in wild and inhospitable places. Whether it's a climbing weekend in Sussex or an expedition to Ecuador, from a geography field trip in Snowdonia to skiing in the Alps, our girls enthusiastically embrace the great outdoors in all its magnificent variety. We depend on organisations such as Mountain Rescue, as do so many others, to underpin their zest for adventure, giving them the confidence to venture into the unknown in so many different ways.
We have some exciting fund raising activities planned, including a Mountain Mufti Day, Billy Can Dinner Parties for parents and the Surbiton Three Peak Challenge in the School Gym. We are especially asking for sponsorship for The Three Peak Challenge, taking place on Monday 23 November. The three treadmills will be set on a sharp incline, to reflect the Mountain Experience, and staff and sixth formers will aim to climb the virtual peaks of Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike on a rota basis! Please sponsor anyone who asks you to donate to this thoroughly worthwhile cause and make their twenty, thirty or more minutes in the gym count!
