Story
Written and performed by care workers at Home From Home Care and local four-piece rock/pop band District Motion, ‘Perfect Christmas’ is 4:05 minutes of exuberant festive joy - with all proceeds going exclusively to the ‘Say Hello’ charity - who provide funds to adults with disabilities to enjoy days out and accessing the community.
In keeping with the charity’s aim to help adults with learning disabilities to overcome loneliness and social inclusion, the single features uplifting lyrics which focus on coming together to cultivate kindness this Christmas.
The feel-good festive song was created and supported by local adult social care provider Home From Home Care which supports individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex mental and physical health needs.
As well as Home From Home Care team members performing on the track, the track’s music video features other care workers and the individuals they support across the care provider’s 11 care homes in Greater Lincolnshire.
Founding director of Home From Home Care, Hugo de Savary said:
“With Christmas around the corner, we created this single to celebrate the people we support as well as key workers across the country.
“We’re thrilled to release this upbeat earworm, at the end of a particularly turbulent year. All proceeds will go to our ‘Say Hello’ charity, which fosters inclusivity by running events catered to those with learning disabilities - everything from movie nights and coffee mornings to football games and fun runs!”
The band, District Motion has a strong relationship with Home From Home Care, with many band members being company employees who regularly perform at events for the individuals they support.
IT Project Partner at Home from Home Care, David Taylor who plays keyboard on the track said: “It’s a bit cheesy, quite catchy and I think that’s the perfect recipe for a Christmas number one!”
