Sarah's trek to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro

Sarah's trek to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro · 26 August 2013
On April 28th, 2013 my brother Christopher tragically took his life. Every day since his death I think of him and what I could have done to help him fight the pain that drove him to his decision. These have been some of the most difficult days I have ever experienced; but, I wouldn't have gotten through this time without the love and support of my family and friends.
However, even with their support there have been moments where I needed to engage others who understood what my family and I are going through. I have turned to SOBS, which has helped, and is helping, me to better cope with the emotional stresses created by Christopher's sudden death.
On the 26th of August, I am undertaking a trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro in honour of my brother's memory. At the summit I plan to place some of his ashes. In addition, I want the trek to recognise SOBS for its help and support to so many people, such as me, who are dealing with the emotional impact that a suicide has on a family and friends.
My fundraising goal is £5,895.00, a £ for every meter I am planning to climb to reach the summit.
I understand that suicide can be a diffcult and uncomfortable subject to discuss, but I am hoping my trek will help raise awareness about it and its lasting impact, whilst bringing recognition to a charity that supports those bereaved by suicide each and every day.
Thank you, in advance, for any donation you can provide to support this cause and help me reach my lofty fundraising target.
