Story
Well, I made it. I realised at 14k I should have trained properly, I should have trained for hills and running on sand!! Physically demanding like nothing before (not that I've done anything before) and the recovery is slow.
The support from familly and friends as been invaluavble and thank you to everyone who has donated to Tusk to make the children smile! To witness the change your money makes kept us all going.
Special thanks to James King for his superb interval and SERIOUS ATTITUDE (Just run!) training, to Jamie Smallie for our seemly never ending trips around the park and keeping me amused, Runbreeze for the kit and unbelieveable socks and Michael, Tats and Harry for being there every step.
Look how happy you make children!
Stop me if I want to do it again.
With love and thanks
Sarah
Somehow, I promised to run the Lewa Half Marathon in Kenya. I am not someone who runs so the thought of a half marathon, 21k, at 5500 ft in the sun makes me want to lie down, of course it does! However, run I will, for a very good reason.
I am raising money for Tusk Trust, in particular for the work they do educating and caring for the young children in the local area. The funding of schools, medical programs and involvement in conservation of endangered wildlife is essential.
Thank you for helping me complete the course! Every penny is very gratefully received.
With love
Sarah
