Can you believe I am going to take part in a marathon?? Me?! I chose Prostate Cancer as my cancer charity in honour of an amazing friend who lost her Dad and Uncle last year to this but has always continued to blow me away with her continued determination to raise awareness and money for this cancer.

I am also doing this marathon in celebration of a beautiful friend who was diagnosed with and beat breast cancer and my most marvellous Auntie Anne; and in memory of the parents of two of the best girls ever and for Elaine.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with over 36,000 cases diagnosed every year. In the 1970s less than a third of men survived for five years or more. Now three-quarters do – that’s amazing progress. But prostate cancer still claims over 10,000 lives a year. So it’s crucial that Cancer Research UK continue their work and find new ways to tackle the disease.
