Story
On the 2nd of October 2021, Michael Read was hit by a car and killed on an evening out with some of his friends in Canterbury. Michael was 22 years old and had just finished his four year Masters degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Sheffield, and was in the middle of interviews to begin his career. He had everything to look forward to.
Michael was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and a friend to many, and will be deeply missed by everyone he knew.
There seems to be very little support available to deal with the sudden and tragic loss of a child, but the family turned to The Compassionate Friends UK (TCF UK), who really understood what they were going through and have given the family support whenever they needed it.
We would like to support Anna, Chris and Lucy (Mum, Dad & Sister) by helping them to raise as much money as we can for TCF UK.
We are holding a private charity 5K run on Saturday 15th April at 10am at St Mary’s Island starting just outside the Chatham Maritime Watersports Centre on Maritime Way, Chatham ME4 4QT. Whether you want to walk or run please join us in raising as much money as we can for this great cause.
Any donations are gratefully received, there is no set amount.
