Story
The Cheltenham office of Investec will be walking the length of the Wysis Way over 9th-12th June, a distance of 52 miles, in aid of our chosen charity Suicide Crisis. The route is graded as 'challenging' by the Long Distance Walkers Association and runs from Monmouth to Kemble. We aim to complete the route over 2 full days plus a half day either side.
Every 2 years the office chooses a locally based charity to support, but with the pandemic we had to postpone the challenge (originally planned for 2020) until this summer. With the many mental health issues arising from the events of the last few years, supporting this worth-while charity seems even more important.
Suicide Crisis works nationally and locally to prevent suicide and also runs an award-winning Suicide Crisis Centre in Gloucestershire, open 24 hours a day for people at high risk of suicide.
It offers a safe place where people are supported and helped through their crisis. There is a team of dedicated, caring, well-trained people who really want to help.
The charity also run a Trauma Centre offering a range of support for people experiencing PTSD.
