Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page it is very much appreciated.

I am proud to volunteer and support this amazing charity for the last 8 years, Covid has been a difficult time for the Harlington Hospice with funding being at an all time low but now very slowly starting to recover and your donations are vital to keep the charity going and to keep offering the services they offer.

I launched this fundraising page for the Harlington Hospice as the Hospice do amazing and incredible work in the London Borough of Hillingdon, they care so much for patients with a terminal illness and providing much needed support for their families and to provide essential services like counselling, complementary therapy, bereavement and therapy support for children and adolescents, lymphoedema services and dementia care.

During Covid 19 the Harlington Hospice has seen an increase in the need for their services, the art therapy sessions provide support for grieving children, young people and their families, the Hospice has recognised that the grieving process has been disrupted due to the pandemic, at this time they are seeing an increase in concerns with disclosures of self-harm, suicide ideation and vulnerability

The Harlington Hospice provide palliative nursing care at home throughout the London borough of Hillingdon to allow those who wish to stay in their own home the hospice also has facilities for patients and their families to go to.

The hospice was set up over 30 years ago by Reg and Mary Hopkins their vision was to make end of life care for local people more comfortable and peaceful the valuable part of the hospice is working closely with healthcare professionals to make sure care is tailored for each individual and their families and friends 1 in 3 people with life limiting illnesses die at home in the UK but 3 in 4 people would prefer to die at home.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to to the charities.
