Trailwalker 2017 · 28 July 2017 to 30 July 2017 ·
Just in case you were not aware, I’m taking on the UK's number one team endurance challenge this July with my husband Gary and friends Terry and Donna.
We are trekking a gruelling 100km (yes 62 miles!) across the South Downs Way in a target time of under, yes under 24hours.
We are doing it to help the Ghurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam in their joint efforts to end poverty and to help rebuild in Nepal after the earthquake.
While we really enjoy exercise, we have to admit this is something else for us! We are not marathon walkers or runners but our training has started in earnest and I’m proud to say we have battled some pretty dramatic weather in the last few weeks to get the training miles in. We are taking on this (slightly ridiculous) challenge and we're walking with the Ghurkha's who really make the event what it is.

We have set ourselves a challenge this year to raise at least £1,500 to fund poverty relief work and reconstruction in Nepal.
We would be indebted if you could dig deep and support us by sponsoring us. Thank you so much for your support. We know that you will get other sponsorship requests this year, but the thought of your generosity and kindness will definitely spur us on (especially during those final few miles). Anything you can contribute will really make the difference!
There may be other events going on this year to raise funds and we will keep you posted. Hope you don’t mind the non-work emails given the reason?
I also apologise in advance if you are harassed by any of my friends as well – there are 4 of us doing the challenge and we have a close circle of friends, family and work colleagues!
PS Any top tips for long distance walking/ blister relief please let me know!
