Story
On 4th January at 12:50am our dad, Kevin Lowndes, lost a battle with his body that I don't think even he realised he was fighting. After being rushed to A&E 3 weeks prior, our dad fought so many battles; 22cm blood clot on his bowel, liver problems, blood clotting disorder, covid and heart problems to just name a few. Although he had so many problems internally, nothing was linked and it was just unfortunate that he had so much going on at one time. On new years eve, he had to have emergency surgery to remove half of his bowel and a hernia but sadly he did not wake up. His organs gradually started to fail and although we are in a pandemic, the hospital granted me permission to just spend his last 6 hours with him and to hold his hand. I will forever be enternally grateful for that. He was the best!
Our dad was a huge cricket fan and that was often all he talked about, therefore, this is the perfect small charity to donate to in his name.
So please, if you want to donate to a charity in his name, please donate to The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation. We are sure he would love it.
Please leave any memories of him that you have. I know that myself and my siblings would love to hear all about them.
