Sarah's page on behalf of Libby Hadfield

Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon - Sheffield 2016 · 10 April 2016 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
During my training for the Sheffield Half Marathon, I knew I wanted to run for a charity but wasn't sure which one. There are a lot of charities close to my heart and I have raised funds for various over the years. At the beginning of March a teacher from my children's school died very suddenly and unexpectedly. Miss Libby Hadfield was the Year 5 teacher at St Thomas of Canterbury School in Sheffield and just 28 years of age. She also taught my daughter in Y6 for Maths and Music and was an all round lovely teacher with a natural talent for teaching. Her cause of death was defined as Sepsis. So I have decided to run for Sepsis Trust in memory of Libby Hadfield.
I knew very little about Sepsis before this but her family have asked for donation to this cause so I thought it would be a lovely idea to try and show Libby's family and friends how much we at St Thomas' thought of her. The children are all very sad but have been thinking of their own ways to remember her at school. This is my small way of showing support and raising awareness for a Trust that continue to fight against sepsis each year. The Sepsis Trust believe that, once sepsis is accepted as a medical emergency and as a clinical priority for the NHS, 10,000 lives a year might be saved.
Any amount we can raise (however small) will show our support and also help the trust carry on their valuable work.
Thank you so much
