I've never done one of these before but happily support others. It such a great way to feel connected with family and friends for the price of a bottle of wine or two.  Running Longmead Community Farm is a tough challenge but made so worthwhile by the support it provides to families and young people. Support services are often so stretched that they have to offer a one size fits all. At Longmead we are so lucky that our farmhouse, art barn, woodland, gardens and therapy animals allow us to create a package of support fitted around the person and not the other way around. It is a joy to see practitioners and volunteers at Longmead and Koru creating such a special experience to help so many. 

To me, however, the true heroes are our piggies. No matter how hard my day is they are often there to offer me a wise ear, a thoughtful grunt or a belly to scratch. They are always willing to let me share their mud bath. They are true friends. They really need a new pig hut to allow them to have a summer and winter home. 

Many of us have spent birthdays together, worked together, raised children together, gone to school together, shared Facebook funnies together. In better times I would have loved to have shared my 50th with you and raised a glass. If you feel inclined it would be great if you could donate that coffee, bottle of wine price to help this amazing charity and keep my piggy friends happy. Thank you for reading and take care.
