Story
In May I am wingwalking in aid of Heart Heroes, a charity who support families of children living with congenital heart disease and heart problems.
Many of you know our son was born with a complex heart defect. He has undergone 5 open heart surgeries, many procedures, months at a time in hospital, daily medication and a lifetime of further appointments, procedures and surgery. This however does not define him. It doesnt stop him or hold him back. He lives every day to his fullest with a smile that is utterly contagious. Heart Heroes have supported William and our family since he was 10 months old. Including him and ourselves in all their activities, introducing him to peers who understand him and encouraging him to try new things with the support and understanding he needs. They have provided much needed support, time, therapy and councelling to myself and our family, always there to hold a hand and listen in our darkest hour but equally always there to celebrate the wins and happy times. Heart Heroes are not just a charity they are family.
Their goal is for children and their siblings to be included in all of the inclusive events, along with parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and any other close family. Every day in the UK 13 babies are diagnosed with a heart defect!
Please help me raise money to support this wonderful and much needed charity.
