SCT provided a sanctuary for my mother. A place where she could be understood, a place where she could express herself as she was, with no judgement. My mother has a big loving family and friends network but at SCT she found an extended family. A one where strong friendships were made and healing stories were shared. My mum was given free reign to set up cooking classes for the members, she would cook for the residential project, raise funds and bring in donations however she could. She valued every memory, every class she attended and every person she came into contact with. She understood that she was not on her own and it was the union of people that encouraged healing and self importance. So many people have contacted me, telling the stories of how my mum saved their lives just through listening, accepting and supporting them, all the qualities that SCT provide. My mother didn't think that her help was extraordinary but if you ever met my mum, you too would feel the light that she brought. She was a genuine character who was honest, open and shared everything she had. I believe she was an angel. Towards the end of her life, it became very difficult for my mother as she battled years of depression. a battle that sadly came to an end. Thank you so much SCT for bringing so much joy, happiness, light and purpose into my mothers life as you do with all the members of SCT. Please donate to this worthy cause so they can continue to provide the services that are a lifeline to so many including my mother.
