Story
During the summer of 2021, I will be travelling to Sri Lanka with a charity called TravelTeer. I will be volunteering in a Marine and Wildlife Conservation programme. This programme helps re-generate key areas in Sri Lanka, such as rainforests, coral reefs, and marine life. The programme aims to restore and conserve the environment in Sri Lanka.
Throughout my time I will be restoring sea turtle numbers, restoring coasts, replanting indigenous trees, or creating artificial nests for Tree Frogs. So far there have been 1.400 trees planted, 3 rainforests rehabilitated, 5,000 sea turtle hatchlings released, and 2200kg of beach and river waste cleared.
The money raised will be going directly to the TravelTeer charity, which is then used to buy essential equipment, provide food, and aid the development of the programmes.
Over the next few months, I will be raising as much money as possible to help fund my trip and help support the communities in Sri Lanka. Any donations big or small will be greatly appreciated and will help provide the children and families with greater resources.
