Story
Eva ( 8 year old) has always been generous and charitable since she was 5. while kids her age asked for several lavish gifts for their birthdays, her request every year for the last 3 years has been to support organisations for various causes. Over the years we have moved from donating to organisations on her birthday, to sponsoring children in need. This year with the current situation in Ukraine, her birthday wish has been to help Ukrainians in some way. She is passionate about outdoors and have set a simple challenge for us (mother and daughter) to complete 100kms our way by 7th of july (when she turns 9). We are hoping to do this by walking, running or biking to support UCP over the coming months starting April 1st. Follow us on Strava to see our little one take small steps for a big cause!
About UCP:
UCP are working with 3 partner churches in the west of Ukraine. We have been working together for over 15 years . With the current conflict happening their partnership has never been more relevant. There is a desperate need now for shelter, food and safety for the Ukrainian people who are fleeing the war. Many folk are passing through the border area in which we serve (and on to Hungary or Romania). Others choose to remain in safety in Western Ukraine hundreds of miles from the current conflict zones to see what materialises hoping they can return home in the not too distant future. The centres in the villages we serve accommodate up to 450 refugees at a cost of 7-8 Euros per day for food, toiletries, temporary accommodation (including heating and security).
