We celebrate the legacy of Stephen Lawrence to promote equality, diversity & inclusion

Story

In 1817 Jane Austen introduced her first person of colour into the fragment of her final novel. Georgiana Lambe was isolated and subjected to the racist attitudes of society.
Sadly that racism is still prevalent today. As fans of Sanditon we want to promote equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism. The keystone of this is education and for this reason the Sanditon Sisterhood supports the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation which works in 'Classrooms, Communities and Careers' to ‘inspire a fairer and just society’ (Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation). Supporting this wonderful foundation is our way of helping to make a difference.

About the charity

The Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation will inspire a fairer and just society through Stephen's legacy engendering equality, diversity and inclusion for young people and communities globally
