At the age of 7 I started flicking my neck back without knowing why I was doing it.  Because no one understood what this was, my mum and dad asked me to stop but I couldn't.  It took a long time for us to get the medical diagnosis of Tourette's Syndrome but during that time Tourettes Action really helped me and my family understand what was happening to me.  

Last summer we were lucky enough to get a place at TicFest and we camped out with other people who had Tourette's and their families. We had lots of fun and I got to meet other people with tics for the first time.  Bizarrely, one of the other children there turned out to be my 4th cousin!  If you watch the video on the Tourettes Action homepage you can see all of my family, including my new cousin and learn a bit more about the condition.  https://www.tourettes-action.org.uk/
