Story
Dear All,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This April I am taking up the challenge of the running the London Marathon. To make matters worse I recently strained the ligaments in my knee skiing so won't be able to start training until mid February, giving me only two months!
I have chosen to run for Sightsavers, who work to combat blindness in developing countries, restoring sight through specialist treatment and eye care. They also support children who are irreversibly blind by providing education, counselling and training. Sightsavers help the people who need it most - those living in poverty in some of the world's poorest countries.
Any donation, however small, will go a long way to helping the cause:
£1 - Enough to protect 20 people form river blindness
£3 - Can provide treatment for 6 people suffering from Trachoma
£5 - Could provide a sight saving trichiasis operation
£10 - Enough to conduct eye tests and diagnosis for 5 people
£100 - Can buy 70 pairs of glasses
Thanks,
Sam
