Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the date of the Half Marathon, it will have been exactly one year since our world was tipped upside down when my Dad was diagnosed with cancer. Over the past 11 months City Hospice, who, to be honest we had no idea existed until this terrible time began, has provided help and hope to beat this terrible illness.
Entering this Half Marathon is now even more important to us, as Dad lost his battle with cancer on September 7th 2018. It’ll be a month to the date that Alex and I lost our amazing Dad. There are no words to express how we are feeling, and we will continue to do all we can to help people live with this illness.
Thanks to City Hospice, we have been able to stay positive throughout this tough time, by not only the treatment they have provided for my dad, but the ongoing support that they have given to our family. Almost 1,000 patients a year are cared for in City Hospice, not to mention the thousands of other patients cared for at home.
So, Ilona and I are dusting off our running shoes, as we are no runners, to try to do something positive to raise money for City Hospice to help them in the work they do, supporting people living with cancer. We are grateful for any donations you can spare as every small amount adds up. Thank you for supporting us.
