Story
I am currently doing a PhD on Macular Degeneration, an age-related degenerative type of blindness 1 out of 3 people will develop after 80 years of age, kindly sponsored by the charity Fight for Sight. I thought it's time I do something for them as well, so I'm doing the Carrot Nightwalk!
The Carrot Nightwalk is an event organised by Fight for Sight. Participants, like me, will be walking 15 miles in London, by night. To add a bit of fun, I will be dressing as a carrot (I will also be making my own costume!)
All the money raised goes to reasearch in common eye diseases such as galucoma and macular degeneration, but also rare diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa.
Fight for Sight are the biggest charity in the UK sponsoring eye research and you can check all their achievements here: http://www.fightforsight.org.uk/achievements
Whether you want to help funding good research, or have me walk around London dressed as a carrot (I promise I will), please donate as little or as much as you can! It will be much appreciated!
P.S.: 1. All the money donated goes to the charity.
2. Anyone is welcome to join, so if you also want to be a carrot for one night, join in! http://www.fightforsight.org.uk/carrots-info
