Mega thanks to everyone who came to the Quiz night. I hope you all enjoyed it. It was a fabulous turnout and we managed to raise a whopping £1200 after paying for all the Fish & Chips etc. All raffle prizes were very kindly donated by local businesses and I cannot thank them enough for their tremendous generosity.

24th August 2007 - Update

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for helping me achieve my first target of £2000 by 16th September. This is a fabulous achievement and wouldn't have been possible without your help. Thank you!!!

To raise a further £3000 for Macmillan Cancer Support I am holding a series of entertainment evenings, starting with a Quiz night on Friday 28th September 2007. Please come along to support this worthy cause and have a great night of fun.

May 2007 - Update

Hi,

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

The sponsorship money you donate will enable Macmillan Cancer Support to provide the expert care and practical support that people with cancer, and those close to them, most need. I know when Craig, my brother, was diagnosed, Macmillan helped him sort out his finances, which relieved a stress you really don't need when receiving cancer treatment and unable to work! There are sadly currently over one millon people in the UK who have had a cancer diagnosis, a figure that is expected to double by 2015. While research has led to vital breakthroughs in the development of drugs, treatments and operations, no scientific breakthrough can cure the loneliness and isolation that a cancer diagnosis can bring.

So please dig deep and sponsor me online. I have to raise £2000 by September to be able to take part in the trip. 66% of which will go straight to Macmillan Cancer Support, with the remaining 34% paying for the trip (I have already contributed £450 to this myself). 100% of all monies raised in addition to the £3000 will go straight to Macmillan. I promise to keep this page up to date with my training progress and make sure you are invited to all the fund raising events I plan to hold throughout the year.

The trip is in November and although that seems ages away it really isn't. The thought of ME... camping with no shower or toilet and walking up to 9 hours a day in very sweaty temperatures is giving me nightmares , but I'm up for the challenge and with your help determined to raise as much cash as possible for this very special charity.
