Story
I have been raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care for a few years now.
I have trekked to Everest Base Camp, Climbed to the top of Kilimanjaro, and now I am going to trek in the world's most famous desert - the Sahara!
As well as raising money through sponsorship for my treks, I have organised events through my work at The Bowgie Inn, with an annual Ale Festival which is now being organised for it's fourth year, a revival of our 1980's grunge disco each September, which will be in it's fifth year in 2016, and a James Bond Theme Night which we have held for the last 5 years.
Many people in my close local community including friends and family members have been cared for at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice.
One in 3 of us will get some form of cancer at some time in our life. We none of us know when we or a loved one might need treatment, support, rest bite care or terminal care at either St Julia's Hospice or Mount Edgcumbe Hospice.
The Sahara Trek will be quite a challenge for me. Whilst it is shorter than any previous treks, and not at such altitude, it is going to be VERY HOT!!!
The trek will take me over 50km of desert sand in Erg Chegaga, climbing the highest sand dunes in the Moroccan Sahara in temperatures around 30 degrees Centigrade, camping overnight in Berber Bedouin Camps, experiencing amazing sunsets and campfires under Saharan night skies.
I would be grateful for your donations - generous donations would be amazing, but equally whatever you can afford to show your personal support for my challenge.
I hope you will follow my achievements and encourage others to sponsor me too!
