Story
On a warm summers evening on the 7th August our world stopped spinning.
Our beautiful daughter Maisie, without warning collapsed at home due to a catastrophic bleed from an Aneurysm in her brain. She was rushed by ambulance to Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge via Broomfield hospital where she was placed on the PICU ward where one of the top neurological teams are based.
For two weeks Maisie endured three surgical procedures to her brain and received unprecedented care from the nurses, doctors, surgeons and healthcare professionals to save her life.
With great sadness and unimaginable heartbreak, on the 21st August our precious angel grew her wings leaving an irreplaceable void in our hearts and future.
We know that Maisie's light is shining brightly in the sky and nothing can replace our special girl and her love for life, this was especially clear to see when with her friends, family and at home.
It is with immense pride that Maisie was able to donate some of her organs and this decision was drawn from her caring nature and willingness to help others. This extremely special gift will have provided others the chance of life and we as a family can seek comfort when remembering our precious selfless Maisie 💕
We have set up this justgiving page in remembrance of Maisie and to say a huge thank you to the staff at Acorn House, part of "The Sick Childrens Trust" for allowing us to stay in a room in the grounds of Addenbrookes hospital throughout the time Maisie was on the PICU ward. Having this welcoming place for us and other families going through the turmoil of having a child in intensive care is a lifeline that we are truly thankful for.
Acorn House and the trust rely on charity donations to provide amenities in all area of the house.
Anything from a penny to a pound will make a huge difference to families going through the toughest times knowing that this facility is on hand to help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the continued love and support that everyone has shown It means so much xxx
