We tackle poverty by supporting girls to learn, thrive, and lead change

Story

In 2014 I rode what turned out to be the most fun, exhilarating and tough cycle of my life; the southern half of the Tour d'Afrique riding from Nairobi to Cape Town - a ride of just under 6500 km  (or 4000 miles).  It was a blast! This time I'm back to ride the northern half. Slightly shorter at around 5,500 km but with trickier terrain, think lava rock deserts, challenging altitude, and the added fun of stone throwing Ethiopian kids.

As before, the trip will be entirely self-funded and your donations will go towards Camfed, a fantastic charity that educates girls and young women in rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa.

I've been exceptionally lucky to receive a great education but too many girls are instead forced to leave school early, work to support their extended family, have children very young and lose many of the choices that we take for granted.

By educating a girl you'll help her earn more, reduce her likelihood of getting HIV/AIDS, and have a smaller healthier family.  I'll pedal for that!

Thanks so much for your support.
