Haverfordwest Mosque

Sajida Madni is raising money for HAVERFORDWEST CENTRAL MOSQUE

Haverfordwest Mosque renovations · 7 April 2022

Our current mosque consists of a flat above a restaurant. It does not have the capacity to cater for our women, children and community related activities. As our numbers are growing, we need larger premises that can meet the needs of our members and serve as a hub for the whole community.

Story

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Alhamdulillah, we are already in the blessed month of Ramadan. A month of mercy. A month where rewards are multiplied. A month where we search for opportunities that will weigh heavy on our scale of good deeds.

We are reaching out with a sincere and urgent appeal for our masjid.

Our current boiler system is old and no longer working as it should. It is unreliable and extremely expensive to run. During the colder months the masjid struggles to stay warm, and the heating bills place a heavy burden on our small rural community. We do not have large donors or outside funding. We rely solely on the generosity of those who love and value this house of Allah.

This Ramadan we are fundraising to replace the old boilers with new energy efficient electric boilers. These will reduce our heating costs and make the masjid more sustainable. In the future we hope to move towards a fully electric heating system that works alongside the solar panels already installed on our roof. But we cannot take this step without your support.

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” Narrated in Bukhari and Muslim.

Helping to maintain and preserve a mosque carries that same immense reward. Every prayer prayed here. Every child reciting Qur’an. Every tear shed in sujood. Every person who finds comfort within these walls. You will share in that reward.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also said, “When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” Narrated in Muslim.

What greater ongoing charity than sustaining the house of Allah.

Allah says in the Qur’an that the example of those who spend in His way is like a seed that grows seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains, and Allah multiplies for whom He wills.

We have consulted scholars regarding our situation as a rural mosque with no other means of funding, and they have confirmed that Zakat can be given under the category of fi sabilillah. If you are looking to discharge your Zakat this Ramadan, you may give it to the masjid.

This is not simply about boilers. It is about keeping the heart of our community alive. It is about ensuring our elders can pray in warmth, our children can learn in comfort, and that the doors of the masjid remain open for generations to come.

The Prophet ﷺ said, “Charity does not decrease wealth.” Narrated in Muslim.

Please give generously. No amount is small in the sight of Allah. Give seeking His pleasure. Give for your akhirah. Give while the doors of mercy are open.

May Allah accept from you, place barakah in your wealth, forgive your sins and build for you a home in Jannah.

With sincere du’as,

Haverfordwest Central Mosque
