In 2022, SWAY hopes to take around 25 young people to the Lake District in August and 40 to Corfe Camp in June. These times will be formative and meaningful to each one of them. The cost will be around £8000 altogether, including food, transport, instructors and equipment. The young people contribute around £3000 towards the total, which leaves £5000 to find to make these residential affordable for all.

The Challenge 

We are asking for sponsorship for the young people to climb 3362m for a 3 Peaks Challenge during February. We have identified 14 climbs on the South side of the Island of Wight that make up 2544m. The 3  Peaks total 3362m. They will need to complete all 14 climbs plus another 818m by repeating some of the 14. 

There is an additional special challenge: The 3 Peaks Challenge in  hours is run each year for the National 3 Peaks (Sca Fell, Snowdon and Ben Nevis). This is our Island equivalent which a team of us  will be doing during February half term. The idea is to climb 3362m in 30 hours covering 55km, beginning at Shanklin on Tuesday 22nd and finishing at Dunsbury Farm on Wednesday 23rd.
