Story
Have you heard of the #TwoPointSixChallenge?....No….Many fundraising events in the UK have been postponed or cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Whilst we are all hopeful many of these events will go ahead at a later date, many charities across the UK have been left struggling to maintain their services.
These charities need our support now more than ever. From those supporting children to the elderly, as well as those providing vital palliative care, mental health support, housing, food supplies and more. It’s never been more important to come together and show how much we care.
What Are We Doing?
My team and I wanted to get involved. We have decided that that our challenge will be to walk 260 miles in 1 week as a team. It’s not climbing mount Everest or running a marathon but it will be fairly challenging.
We have multiple members of the team shielding at home, some that are caring for high risk family members, people who are isolating, one of the team is 7 months pregnant and we have 2 people fasting during Ramadan. Even if its walking around the garden or chasing our little ones we aim to hit our target!
What Charities Are We Supporting?
Bubble Foundation - This charity supports babies with no immune system. I’m sure many of your know Jawad Janjua on our team. This is particularly close to his heart as his daughter, Yumna, was recently diagnosed with the condition and unfortunately lost her battle in February of this year at 7 months old.
We think it would be nice to give a little back to help support others in the future.
Macmillan Cancer Support - Everyone is affected by cancer in one way or another. Its particularly close to some of our teams hearts who have been even more closely affected.
Please Can You Help….We have 2 JustGiving Charities set up for our chosen charities. If you can donate, however small, it would be most appreciated!
