Would you like to donate a beautiful, handmade cotton quilt to the Simpson Neonatal Unit, without the hard work of making it?
Every baby in the Neonatal Unit lies on a soft cotton quilt to protect its fragile skin. We have a number of volunteers willing to make these quilts, but the materials for making them can be quite expensive to buy. We are therefore inviting donations of £10 towards the cost of making each quilt.
Quilts are used in three ways:
- Everyday Quilts: these quilts stay in the Unit and are washed and used over and over again
- Christmas Quilts: these are given as a gift to babies who are in the Unit on Christmas Day – these go home with the babies.
- Transport Quilts: these quilts are used by the Neonatal Transport Service, when moving babies between hospitals using the Transport Incubator.
Each donation of £10 will cover the cost of the materials required to make each quilt.
Funds raised will be allocated to the SSCB General Fund and used in accordance with our core values.
