Race for Reading
Campaign by Schoolreaders (RCN 1159157)
Be part of the Race for Reading and tackle childhood illiteracy with us. Our aim is to complete 25,000 miles in 80 days to raise money to provide weekly one-to-one reading support sessions to primary school children.

Story

We are raising money for Schoolreaders. Did you know that before Covid-19 1 in 4 children were leaving primary school unable to read well. This has been made even worse as a result of the pandemic, especially for the most disadvantaged children.

If children can't read well when they leave primary school, they will struggle with their secondary education, finding a job, and helping their own children learn to read.

The funds we raise will enable Schoolreaders to recruit and place volunteers in a local primary school at no cost to the school, so every child has the opportunity to catch up with vital reading skills.

Every £30 will provide weekly one-to-one reading support for one child with a Schoolreaders volunteer for a whole year.

With your help we can make sure children have a brighter future!
