We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

If we can push it over £1000 I will get my beard shaved! - Gregg

Blog update! Last minute preparations to the Waaambulance Preparing to prepare the preparations.

About Us

On the 14th of May 2015, Team Skunkworks (Adrian Bawn and Gregg Bond) join forces with Team Axel's of Evil (Mike Jenkins and Adam Withers) to take part in the ScumRun charity road rally to raise money for JDRF, a Type 1 diabetes charity.

The ScumRun is an endurance rally (not a race!), covering about 3000 miles around Europe in only 5 days before returning to the UK. But there are several catches:

A) The car must cost no more than £500.

B) We don’t know the actual destinations until the route cards are dished out each day.

We are sure we will get lost (we did last time), or breakdown somewhere (right tighty on those spark plugs!), but it’s all in aid of a great charity, so please donate if you can.

We have bought our car (a 2.5 litre, mid-engined rear wheel drive rocket ship) and are going to fix her up ready for the rally, but we need everyone's help to raise money for the charity, and to help find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

About The Scumrun

The largest and most popular banger rally around Europe. As seen on Men & Motors and available in HMV and online retailers.120 teams take part driving across Europe via a route only declared the morning of each day.

Mission

To raise as much for national charities as possible whilst ensuring that all fundraisers have the trip of a lifetime. On average Scumrun raises in excess of £70,000 each year for some fantastic UK charities. Setting the standard of the European Charity driving experience Scumrun is always leading the way and continuing to provide value for money to all participants and changing lives along the way.

Thank you to everyone for supporting JDRF in this year’s Scumrun.

About JDRF

Globally, JDRF has invested £1billion in funding critical research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes and its complications.

For more than four decades we have been at the forefront of developments, finding new ways to treat type 1, and progressing towards being able to halt, reverse and prevent it. By seeking out, assessing and monitoring the best research in the world, no matter where it is, we drive the breakthroughs that improve treatment and that will ultimately cure type 1 diabetes.
