Story

Scott Allen, Lewis Winters, Dan Winters and James Ward will be taking on the 'Longest Day Golf Challenge', which consists of 72 holes of golf, over 300 swings of a club, taking around 16 hours, approximately equivalent to a marathon in distance (if we are hitting it straight!).

Staff across Dartford and Gravesend NHS Trust is facing the biggest challenge they have ever faced - the fight against COVID-19. With over 4000 staff at the NHS trust, they are all playing their part. Whilst they remain dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care for their sickest patients, we can support Valley Hospital Charity by raising money to support the well-being of our NHS heroes, buy the latest medical equipment, enhance the hospital environment, fund innovative research, plus lots more.

The reason  we picked this charity was due to James' 88 year old Grandmothers six week successful battle with COVID-19. She was cared for by the wonderful staff at Darent Valley Hospital and its because of their great work and dedication we still have her in our lives today! During her stay with the Palm team, Margaret underwent CPAP therapy which is a very intensive treatment to restore oxygen levels. Once well enough, she transferred to Beech ward to recover and build her physical strength with the hospitals multidisciplinary team in preparation for returning home. Therefore to say thank you and to help the NHS in this pandemic, we are trying to raise as much as possible by taking part in this challenge at Top Meadow Golf Club on Friday 19th June.

Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated and will help make a difference for our NHS!

Thank you!

Scott, Lewis, Dan, James
