It’s that time of year again! The Annual ABIRT St Patrick’s Day raffle (virtual) will be this THURSDAY 10th March - Amazing prizes to be won so get your entry in quick!
This year we are proud to support the fantastic charity WOMENS AID
Since March 2020, 11 women have been murdered in Northern Ireland. Women’s Aid refuges throughout NI are a safe place for women escaping domestic abuse, and throughout the pandemic, they’ve continued to support women even in these unprecedented times. From April 2020 – March 2021, 530 women stayed in refuge throughout NI and they will continue to support women, children & young people in refuge regardless of outside circumstances.
Women’s Aid supports women not just in refuge, but also in their
local communities. In the year 20/21, they provided 6,005 women who’ve experienced domestic abuse floating support in their local area to ensure they got support regardless of the global pandemic.
Pregnancy can be a trigger for perpetrators of domestic abuse, and in cases where abuse already is occurring, can lead to the abuse escalating during pregnancy or after giving birth. During the year 20/21, 10 babies were born to women staying in Women’s Aid refuges in Northern Ireland.
This is a very worthy charity who do vital work for women and children – please give what you can for this worthwhile cause
