Following the devastating explosion in Beirut on Tuesday 4th August, SARAID have mobilised a team of 6 volunteers to provide structural damage assessments and immediate humanitarian assistance. 

Our team will be self sufficient during their deployment in order not to place more burden on the already fragile situation. They will work with the UN infrastructure to assist in coordination and delivery of structural damage assessments and provision of immediate emergency medical relief where required. We have several engineers in the team, able to provide specialist structural engineering expertise, supported by 8 engineers in the UK providing remote support. 

The deployment is likely to cost in the region of £10,000. We are not a government organisation. We are a charity staffed entirely by volunteers and rely on your support. Please donate what you can to help us help those in need.

Every penny you donate goes directly to the charities main aims of providing worldwide search and rescue relief. Cost for a deployments of this nature include flights, excess baggage fees to transport our equipment, PPE supplies, rations, satellite communication fees, medical supplies, ground transport as well as a contribution to the maintenance of our essential tools and equipment.

We are a British charity dedicated to trying to save the lives of innocent victims of disaster, as well as relieving human suffering around the world regardless of colour, creed, religion and political persuasion. Every penny we raise is spent on Search and Rescue equipment, training and transporting the team.In addition to our international response team, we are also working with countries to provide advice and training on how to cope in the initial 24 hours of the disaster. In the UK we also have a Community Resilience Team in Avon, trained to provide support to the local emergency services in large scale events.
