Story
I am taking part in the Vitality North London Half Marathon on March 15th this year. I am running on behalf of Guys and St Thomas' hospital, in particular their Neonatal ward.
On August 29th my first child was born premature, he came 13 weeks early and weighed just 1lb 3oz!!! As you can imagine the stress of not knowing whether your first born was going to survive or not was extremely stressful to say the least. From the moment little Charlie was born, the attention to detail given by the guys at St Thomas' was incredible, so friendly and comforting. I'm not sure Charlie would be here today if it wasn't for their unbelievable efforts and timely professionalism throughout.
4 months later Charlie was allowed to be discharged from hospital on Christmas Day of all days, it was the best Christmas present I could have wished for, and as you can see by my photo, Charlie is a perfect little stunner!
I have been looking to do something to give back for sometime now, and what better than to run around for 13 miles?! All the money will be going directly to helping the Neonatal ward whom which Charlie was cared by, the money will go into funding for research, equipment and training, to hopefully reduce the amount of premature babies dying.
Please help me raise the funds they deserve!!! They are angels.
Thanks for your support!
Ryan.
