Story
Thank you for visiting our page and for taking the time to read our story. We are a team of four sisters: Hebah, Noor, Hana & Dina. And there is nothing quite like sister love. Your sisters are your best friends, your soulmates, and the part of you that you never imagine doing life without. But on 24 September 2022, we lost the heart and soul of our family, our sister, our forever rockstar, Noor Bibi.
Noor (نور) translates to ‘light’ in Arabic, a light so precious it’s used to describe something that’s considered to be the absolute best of its kind. This is everything Noor embodies and her lesson to shine your light from within and shine bright for those around you is one we will carry forward with us.
Noor was faced with the challenges that come with a rare type of cancer for 3.5 years. But for those 3.5 years (which included covid), she created opportunities for herself and for others, she made people smile and most importantly, she brought so many people together. That is what Noor is all about – the brightest light in any room with the most infectious smile and the biggest heart. Those 3.5 years were a journey and many would say the toughest but when we look back, we look back with a smile. Noor made the countless days of treatment, surgeries, nights in hospital seem so simple. We spent every second together. We cried together, we laughed together and we lived our best life together despite everything else. But that is Noor – the true definition of strength.
Noor’s dream was to run all 6 World Major Marathons (London, Berlin, New York, Chicago, Boston and Tokyo). She ran London and New York, and had her starting place for Chicago confirmed on the 08th October 2023. Her dream is our dream and so, in her memory we start running…in Chicago on the 08th October. We will be fundraising for Imperial Health Charity – the trust that took so much care of Noor and our family.
It was the Imperial care that we received from all the consultants, surgeons, doctors, nurses, health care assistants and team members, that will stay with us forever. Imperial hospitals meant so much to Noor and to us, it was our home away from home and that can’t be said about many places. So we hope you can help us make a difference to make sure that special care remains always available for more families like ours.
Imperial Health Charity helps their hospitals do more through grants, arts, volunteering and fundraising. They fund major redevelopments, clinical research and medical equipment as well as helping patients and their families at times of extreme financial difficulty. They raise funds to support the five hospitals of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea, St Mary and Western Eye hospitals.
Thank you again for reading our story and all donations however big or small are greatly appreciated. With your support, we hope to continue to shine Noor’s light, creating opportunities for the best care, making people smile and bringing people together no matter how tough their journey may be.
With all our love,
Hebah, Hana & Dina
In loving memory of our dearest sister, Noor Bibi.
