Story
This is a message from Aurelia, my daughter, (aged 7):
Hello and thank-you for visiting!
I know that everyone is worried about coronavirus. But right now there are wildlife parks trying to feed their animals and it's difficult because nobody can visit their parks, so they're not getting any money to feed animals or to give to all the conservation projects they work with around the world.
I visited Highland Wildlife Park in 2018 because I love snow leopards and HWP have two adult snow leopards, Animesh and Chan, who then bred three adorable cubs last year. Breeding snow leopard cubs in captivity is very hard so this was amazing! When I visited, the big cat keeper was very kind to me and let me feed the female snow leopard, Animesh, which was incredible!
It costs £6000 per month to feed the animals at HWP. I would like to raise enough money to feed all the animals for one week (or more!)
Snow leopards in the wild have been known to roam 43km at night to hunt for food. So over the next few weeks I am going to run 43km to raise money. (I am only aged seven, so will run 2-4km per day). I will make sure to social distance in the park when I run!
If you love animals and conservation as much as I do, please donate whatever you can.
Thank-you and stay safe!
