Masjid Sulayman Bin Dawud Renovation - PUB to Masjid Major Works

We invite you to join our Sha'bān and Ramadhān Campaign, aiming to raise £1 million for this essential renovation. This project will continue to be a source of Sadaqah Jariyah, offering ongoing rewards for you long after the work is complete.
In 2021, a vision was born—a vision to transform a former public house into a place of worship, a sanctuary for our community. This space, now being transformed into a Masjid, represents far more than bricks and mortar; it is a beacon of faith, hope, and unity. After a year of relentless effort, in September 2022, we were granted planning permission to convert the building into a Masjid, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
The initial phase of the project focused on meeting planning conditions and undertaking essential works, followed by the full refurbishment of the rear section on the ground floor. This space was meticulously converted into a prayer hall and ablution facilities, officially opening its doors in November 2023, offering a place for daily and weekly salah.
As we approached Ramadhan 2024, we completed an additional renovation on the upper floor, increasing capacity and providing the Masjid with the ability to host Taraweeh prayers, while also allowing us to offer vital educational programs for our youth and children.
After Ramadhan 2024, we embarked on an extensive renovation of the entire building, spanning all four storeys. This ambitious phase of work includes a complete overhaul of the interior, a ground floor extension with significant structural beam work, a loft conversion, and a basement refurbishment.
The final result of this transformative project will be a vibrant hub for worship, learning, and community development. The Masjid will provide dedicated prayer spaces for brothers and sisters, enriching educational programs for youth, women, and children, and host community-driven initiatives that will positively impact all those who walk through its doors.
The total cost of the renovation project, including the work done since 2021 (covering planning conditions discharge, Phase 1, and Phase 2), as well as the ongoing Phase 3 renovations, is £1.9 million. To date, we have raised and paid £900,000 towards the project. We are now seeking to raise the remaining £1 million in this year’s Sha'bān and Ramadhān Campaign to complete the Masjid’s transformation. Together, we can reach this target and make this vision a reality.
Your generous support will have a lasting impact. By contributing to this noble cause, you will share in the reward of thousands of prayers offered within this Masjid every year. You will also be part of the blessings of hundreds of children memorising the Quran, studying Arabic, and engaging in Islamic education at the Al Quran Academy.

"When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him."
This profound hadith encourages us to invest in actions that continue to benefit others, as they will be a source of reward even after we pass. Building a mosque is one of the most powerful ways to create a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.
May Allah reward you abundantly for your generosity and support in this blessed endeavour
