Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi I am here to ask you to donate anything you can to help raise money for St Catherines Hospice in memory of my late mother, Miss Barbara Mary Woods.

St Catherines will forever hold a deep place in my heart for the care they gave my mother in the final 6 months of her life ❤️

My mother's final days were at St Catherine's Hospice, where I was informed 6 days earlier that she was entering what is known as the final hours stage, those hours lasted days (which isn't uncommon I must add) but as you can imagine, these where troubling times for me personally.

Every member of the staff, whether it was the Dr who called me at work, or the person who answered my call in the middle of the night because I had suddenly awoke, treated me with the most kindness & emotive support, I will never be able to thank the team enough ❤️👏

My mother passed away on February 13th 2020 - which I can honestly say on this day, today, is such a blessing that it happened when it did due what has gone on in the recent months with regards to the covid-19 pandemic, needless to say this has had such a negative impact on the funding of St Catherines' vital service in our local community.

So I am going to mark the 4th of July, alongside the announcement of the PM at lunch time today that barbershops are allowed to reopen.....

That I am finally going to chop my hair off after 4+ years of growth! 💇🏻‍♂️😭💇🏻‍♂️

This length of growth actually coincides with the time me & my mother first found out about her having bowel cancer, so this means a lot more to me than a normal hair cut. It symbolises a time of my life when I did all I could to support her, which many of you reading this know about & have supported me through this too, I also want to thank you too! We did this together!

So this is my final farewell to the battle that we have encountered, time to start a new chapter where I without my mother for the first time in my life but I know that I am not alone, because I have you all ❤️😇❤️

Please help to support St Catherines Hospice 🙏💞

I have a terms though to help get the funds rolling....

£500  short back sides

£1200 skinhead (1)

£2000 Full on bic'd!

The cut will broadcast live on Facebook / Instagram on 4th July at JW Barbers in Leyland at 8:30am - in line with full government regulations & guidelines
