We support otter conservation to protect the world's 13 species of otter

Story

My aim is to walk as much as possible and hopefully see a couple of otters along the way, I will be do this for 24 hours straight around the beautiful water of leith in Edinburgh, I hope to get as many people as possible to join me during stages of the 24 hours as well as talking to people about the IOSF and the amazing work they do.

IOSF statement

We all know that otters are special animals - not only are they wonderful to watch but they are great indicators to a healthy environment. And yet they are being exploited for commercial gain and in some places hunted almost to extinction. Their habitat is being destroyed and fish stocks depleted. And they are being killed on our roads. But the biggest problem facing otters today is LACK OF AWARENESS and that is what IOSF is aiming to address. We need YOUR help to spread the word and to help fund projects to support all 13 species of otter.

IOSF was inspired by observing otters in their natural habitat. The otter lives, feeds and plays on land and in the water and is at the peak of the food chain so is an ambassador species to a first class environment. IOSF supports the world's 13 species of otter through compassion and science.
