Story

I feel privileged to have worked at Dyscover www.dyscover.org.uk for more than 15 years, helping support hundreds of people affected by aphasia, a communication disability caused by damage to the brain, most commonly stroke.

Aphasia is invisible, indiscriminate and utterly devastating to a person's identity and to their relationships. Watch the video of me working with Simon to understand more.

Dyscover offers a unique blend of specialist Speech & Language Therapy, peer support and life coaching to help people with aphasia rediscover a purpose in life.

On 13th May I will be walking a 10K route on the South Downs with a group of 22 people affected by aphasia. By donating to Dyscover you will be supporting the delivery and development of our unique programme of daily sessions, courses and activities, which help people with aphasia improve their  communication, and grow in  confidence and self-esteem.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
