I have been fortunate to gain entry to Ride London through the ballot, so any amount you give is a donation and not sponsorship.

So why choose the Yorkshire Air Ambulance?  4 years ago having just started road riding I had quite a bad accident.  I was cycling down hill at Kirkham Priory just outside York, to this day I have no memory of what happened but those cycling with me tell me that I went over my handlebars.  I was taken to York District Hospital by ambulance – 2 ambulances having attended the scene.

I cannot raise money for the ambulance service as we all pay for this through our taxes and contributions. 

Also in this club there is a mountain biking section, as a result of another accident in Dalby Forest a cycling friend of mine needed urgent medical care, in this situation no box ambulance could have attended in time and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were called.

Without the care and attention of the emergency services, life might be very different for both me and my friend. 

Yorkshire Air Ambulance receive no Government money, they are entirely funded by charitable donations.  They are a resource that anyone of us might need at any given time; if you can, please donate generously.
