It's been a long standing ambition to ride my bike from Land's End to John O'Groats, a trek of 967 miles over 2 weeks, averaging 75 miles per day. I'm doing this mammoth event starting on 13th July until 26th July with my Brother-in-law, his partner, and a group of people in an organised tour with ACT Cycling Tours.

I've been training specifically for this since the new year and ramping up the mileage on the bike, and already bits of my 48 year old body are complaining bitterly. This will be tough but so worth it.

I've decided to raise money for Cancer Research because it's a condition that affects so many people in many different ways and to be honest is really scary! Over the years I've seen close friends and relatives struck by cancer, some fortunate enough to recover, some not. The sooner we beat this the better and if I can make just a small contribution to that effort it will make my trip even more worthwhile.

The company I work for, Aspects Beauty Company, are celebrating their 25 years in business this year and are supporting 25 charities, of which Cancer Research is one. They will be contributing £25 each month this year which will give me a great start to my fundraising. Thank you.
