A little about my story.
I'm Rishi, 33 and been married to Priya for over 7 years...
...these times have brought us many happy memories and our dreams of having a family was beginning to turn into a reality.
On the 13th December 2010, Priya, who at the time was 8 months pregnant, was sadly lost... No illness, no pain, nothing ... she had a brain haemorrhage. On this day little baby Jayden was born though did not make it, and throughout the day he felt he did not want to go and took his mummy with him. Leaving me with difficult decisions and a life that I no longer recognise or feel comfortable in.
As a focus for myself, family, friends and work colleagues we have decided to raise funds for a “Ventilator for Special Care Baby Unit at Lister Hospital Stevenage” as it an urgent requirement for the local hospital, a local cause that will save innocent lives...
What is it that we are trying to raise the funds for?
SiPAP Flow Drivers
These ventilators allow the medical team to manage the babies breathing without intrusive procedures such as intubation. It can mean a preterm baby may not need intubation at all. They are also helpful in weaning off the ventilator, as the baby can be extubated and nursed on the Sipap. The hospital is aiming to eventually have 11 units though the current target is to raise the funds for one unit at approx £6500 each. Anything we raise above this will go to fund more ventilators or will be discussed with the hospital to see what equipment is next on the urgent list.
Over the year I'm planning to climb Ben Nevis and various other activities (run and cycle)... Thanks for taking the time to look at my site
