Story
As you may already know, our good friend Reece Newcombe was tragically taken from us in November last year. Reece was stabbed in Richmond after a night out. ‘The Big Fight UK’ is a white collar boxing event, that is raising money for the charity ‘Lives Not Knives’. Not only is it a boxing event, which Reece loved, but one that’s raising money for a fitting cause. A charity who’s aim is to help stop/tackle situations like these, taking too many lives too soon.
As friends, family and a community, we’ve already been raising money for Reece’s 7 month old daughter, his partner Alicia, and their unborn baby that Alicia is carrying. We’re very grateful for all that’s been raised for Reece already, so any support for ‘Lives Not Knives’ would be further appreciated and would help stop more families & friends going through similar situations.
For those of you that knew Reece he was an unbelievably talented boxer and trainer. He could have gone onto be a pro, however the party life he enjoyed a lot more in his later years. We have all boxed with his brother Kane, also a boxing trainer at their family run boxing gym ‘Westside’, in Hounslow for a little while now. We have never had a fight, but thought now would be the time to have a white collar boxing fight in his memory and raise some money for a good cause.
Our fight will be at the ‘Clapham Grand’ on Sunday 2nd April 2023. Kane, Reece’s brother will be doing the corner for both of us on the night. We know we won’t look anything like you did in that squared circle, however we hope we can do you proud and raise some money along the way.
If you could donate anything it would be much appreciated and you can also buy tickets to come see us on this link: https://fatso.ma/Xirx
