Laburnum is a hidden gem of Hackney, providing support and opportunities to some of London's most disadvantaged people of any age, all through the form of paddle sports or river activities. Laburnum is an all inclusive hub of abilities, supporting those with additional needs, those facing mental health hurdles and those in community that need a space to make friends and stay active.

They are not a charity that will receive hundreds of thousands of pounds from sponsorships, however funding is critical for them to keep their gates open and to continue providing a much loved and needed resource to the community.

This charity was very close to and very important to Ricky as it gave a weekly opportunity to him to distract himself from his weekly hurdles and reconnect with people.

Ricky was very much looking forward to attend the weekly events organised by this charity and met very good friends along the way.
