Story
Since March 2020, we have all had to make huge changes and sacrifices to the way we live our lives, and the team at The Enterprise in Teddington are no different. To ensure that we follow Government guidelines and do everything we can to keep everyone safe, last year we had to temporarily shut our doors. This closure caused major disruption to our popular activities schedule, planned trips and the routine of those we support.
However here at United Response it will take a lot more than national lockdowns to stop us delivering fun and engaging activities to people with learning disabilities!
At the beginning of the first lockdown, our amazing and creative staff in Richmond were able to quickly pivot to the online space, developing a wide range of virtual activities ranging from arts and crafts to relaxation and keep fit. These activities have been very well attended and have brought joy, routine and most importantly, a sense of community to all participants.
The weekly sessions hosted by our instructors have helped create stability and routine in a very challenging time for the people we support, with the sessions we have developed ensuring that the physical, emotional and social needs of all participants are being prioritised.
Throughout lockdown these activities have been free to access and we will continue to provide the virtual sessions to the people we support, however we are asking for voluntary contributions to ensure we can continue to put on these services and secure the long-term offering at The Enterprise.
Your donation will make a huge difference to the people we support in Richmond:
£5 will give somebody the opportunity to access a session
£10 will provide vital resources to attendees
£20 will pay for an hour long session to one of our sessions
£50 will provide an instructor to deliver a group session
Thank you.
