We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

In May, we're getting active during lockdown to raise money for Alzheimer's Society, with a target of raising more than £20,000.  Personally, I need to get a bit of prep done in order to get ready for being active...It's time for my Lockdown DIY haircut!!

We are raising money to fund a research project: 'Using virtual reality to detect the earliest stages of Alzheimer's Disease'.

The Arcadis-funded research centres around how Virtual Reality can be used to track these navigation skills within a virtual environment to potentially identify the first signs of Alzheimer's better than the current pen and paper form of testing.

We're encouraging our colleagues, clients, friends and family to join us to Get Active for Alzheimer's throughout May - whether you want to run, jump, hop, skip, cycle, walk, press-up, sit-up or climb - every activity counts!

Whether you're using your Government-approved daily exercise session or finding new ways to keep moving within your household - we want you to capture your activity as we all move and raise funds together.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
