Hi All. Thanks for all your support and donations. Thought I'd post a little about the day. Unfortunately Chris was unable to run as he injured his knee in training but he came along to support us on the day. Niamh's 1.5k race was in the morning - she had a bit of a cold and blocked nose but decided to run anyway and despite this gave everything she had to the run finishing in a highly creditable 9:00 mins - we're really proud of her achievement ! The day was slightly chilly and for a while the weather looked like it might hail - but come 2pm and the start of the 10k the sun came out and off I went. After a lovely 3.5k running alongside the River Dee and through the wood of the Balmoral Estate I turned a sharp bend and came face to face with the dreaded Hill - picture a kilometre long flight of stairs and you're getting close The best thing about making to the top though is coming down the other side all the way back to the castle, past my family and on to the finish in 1h0m44s which I was very pleased with ! Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Chris and Richard will be running the Balmoral 10k and Niamh will be running the 1.5k Primary Schools race on 28th April 2012 in aid of Gastrocan - a charity based at the University of Aberdeen dedicated to furthering research into gastric cancers.
